The Canberra Croquet Club hires their facilities to community, professional, and
education groups interested in experiencing a fun and innovative croquet oriented
function.
Golf croquet can be played as single or doubles and takes about 20-30 minutes per game.
Two games can be played at the same time on a lawn; therefore, eight players can be on a
lawn at any one time. Max playing group size 24.
Cost
The minimum hiring charge is $240 which covers the cost of one lawn for two hours or two lawns
for one hour. Further time is available at $120 per lawn per hour. This charge includes all equipment, access to our Clubhouse and member instruction
and assistance.
The numbers we tend to go by are:
Up to 15 players - 1 lawn for 2 hours (cost $240) or 2 lawns for 1.5 hours (cost $360)
15 to 24 players - 2 lawns for either 1.5 hours (cost $360) or 2 hours (cost $480)
Payment should be by cash on the day or by bank transfer after the event.

Availability
Monday and Friday from 1pm.
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 4pm.
Wednesday 1pm - 5pm.
The lawns are not available from mid-December to mid-January due to annual lawn maintenance.
Playing Conditions
We encourage players to wear flat-soled enclosed footwear, since croquet
balls and mallets hurt if they hit you. To protect the playing surface high-
heeled shoes are NOT allowed on the croquet lawns.
Please ensure sunscreen is generously applied and hats worn. Water is
available in the Clubhouse or you may bring your own.
The Club does not supply catering. You can hire a caterer or bring your own
drinks and food. We supply tables if you want to serve food/drinks outside
while you play and you are also welcome to use the facilities of the Clubhouse, which has a
toilet and a small kitchen with a microwave, fridge, etc. but no oven.
Please note, due to Covid-19 restrictions, hiring groups will have no access to the clubhouse except to use the toilet.
Club members taking hiring groups will clean common surfaces in the clubhouse (eg toilet seat, wash basin, door handles,
club tables used for catering, etc) at the end of hiring.
During weekdays, free parking is possible in the 3-hour spaces in Kaye Place,
which is at the back of the Hyatt Hotel, off Flynn Drive. Their
availability is very limited. You are likely to have to use the paid parking
on the Albert Hall side of the Hyatt Hotel, or along Flynn Drive. Weekend
parking is free
Children under the age of 12 are NOT allowed on the croquet lawns, or in the
Clubhouse at any time other than to use the toilet. A non-playing responsible
adult must supervise these children.
